JSON

JSON is the standard data-interchange format of the web. It stores structured, possibly nested records in human-readable text and is the native format of most modern APIs and configuration files.

Converting JSON data in your browser

Drop your JSON file and choose the output from the list, which covers CSV, JSON, Excel, YAML, SQL INSERT statements and Markdown tables. The file is parsed in a Web Worker on your device, and a preview of the first 50 rows shows how the converter read your data before you save anything.

Options appear only when they apply to JSON input or to the chosen target: delimiters for CSV, sheet selection for Excel workbooks, a header-row switch, flattening and rebuilding of nested objects, and a table name and SQL dialect for database output.

Frequently asked questions

What can I convert JSON to?
Every other data format in the list. As a rule of thumb: CSV for spreadsheets and imports, JSON for code and APIs, Excel for people who live in spreadsheets, YAML for configuration, SQL INSERT statements for databases, and Markdown tables for documentation.
How big can my JSON file be?
Up to 50 MB. That covers hundreds of thousands of rows in a typical export; beyond it browsers run short of memory, so the converter shows a clear error rather than freezing the tab.
Are numbers and dates kept intact?
Numbers and true/false values are detected and written as real numbers and booleans in JSON, YAML and Excel output rather than as quoted text, and SQL output leaves numbers unquoted. Dates from Excel are normalized to ISO strings such as 2024-03-01.
Is my JSON data uploaded?
No. The whole conversion runs inside your browser tab, with no server, no account and no cost, so confidential exports never leave your device. After the page loads it even works offline.
